CLERA WINDOWS + DOORS · VINYL WINDOWS GUIDE
A casement window is a window that is hinged on one side and opens outward like a door, operated by a hand crank located at the bottom of the frame. It is one of the most popular window styles in Canadian homes due to its clean look, strong seal, and excellent ventilation.
Because casement windows close by pressing the sash tightly against the frame, they create a compression seal that is more airtight than sliding-style windows. This makes them particularly well suited for Ontario's cold winters, where minimizing air infiltration is a priority.
Casement windows are available in single casement (one sash) or paired casement (two sashes side by side) configurations. Paired casements can be opened from opposite sides to create a wide ventilation opening while maintaining a central visual symmetry.
Why Clera? Clera casement windows feature a multi-point locking system and reinforced sash construction for added security and a tighter weatherseal.
